PROFILI NAVI - SHIPS PROFILES

Desideriamo inviarle con questa lettera un breve aggiornamento sulle attività che abbiamo potuto intraprendere o continuare grazie al suo prezioso contributo, del quale siamo profondamente grati.

 

• Mostra dedicata alle motonavi Saturnia e Vulcania. Si è svolta presso la Galleria di Arte Moderna di Monfalcone dal 4 al 20 settembre 2015 e, presso Palazzo Gopcevich di Trieste dal successivo 2 al 18 ottobre. La mostra, progettata e curata dalla nostra associazione ha ottenuto un successo oltre ogni aspettativa, con un numero record di 10.000 visitatori e una vasta copertura da parte della stampa. Di particolare interesse si sono dimostrati anche gli eventi correlati con conferenze e serate a tema, inclusa la presentazione del libro dedicato alle due motonavi. Oltre al volume abbiamo anche realizzato un sito web dedicato saturniavulcania.com.

• Abbiamo digitalizzato per intero la brochure isometrica del 1939 della Saturnia, proveniente dalla collezione di Paolo Piccione e che ora può essere sfogliata nella pagina dedicata alla nave.

• Abbiamo acquisito uno stupendo poster stampato dalla Bozzo di Genova nel 1948 pubblicato in occasione del ritorno in servizio post bellico di Saturnia e Vulcania e ideato da Giacomo Patrone e visibile nella galleria dei manifesti della pagina Società Italia.

• I nostri soci troveranno nuovi opuscoli da sfogliare in sala lettura: varo della Saturnia, volume inaugurale di Saturnia e Vulcania di Guido Marussig, Un viaggio che è una crociera ecc.

• Abbiamo portato a termine quattro nuove viste esterne laterali che vanno ad arricchire la nuova pagina solo per i soci contenente i profili da noi realizzati.

 

 

This newsletter is intended to give you a brief update about the latest activities which we could start or carry on thanks to your generous contribution, for which we wish to express once again our thanks.

 

 

• Exhibition devoted to the motorships Saturnia and Vulcania. It took place at the Gallery of Modern Art at Monfalcone from the 4th to the 20th September 2015, and at the Gopcevich Palace of Trieste fro the following 2nd to the 18th of October. The exhibition, designed and curated by our Society, obtained a much larger success than expected, with a record number of 10,000 visitors and ample coverage by the press. Particularly well received were the connected events, with lectures, cocktails and the launching of the book devoted to the two sister ships.  Beside the book we realised as well a dedicated website saturniavulcania.com.

• We have digitised the rare 1939 isometric brochure devoted to the Saturnia and belonging to the collection of Paolo Piccione; it can be now browsed in the web page of the ship.

• We came in possession of a beautiful poster printed in 1948 by Bozzo of Genoa and released on the occasion of the post War return to service of the Saturnia and Vulcania. The poster was designed by Giovanni Patrone and can be seen in the poster gallery of the Italian Line section.

• Our members can find new brochures and booklet to browse inside our reading room: lauch of the Saturnia, inaugural volume of Saturnia and Vulcania by Guido Marussig, A voyage which is a cruise etc.

• We have now completed four new coloured side elevations which have enriched the new section, for our members only, devoted to liner profiles.
